Elite Golf Camp

5-day Golf Camp in early August before the high school season starts.

I plan to have one instructor and one counselor for each ten student athletes, and I will invite area coaches and golf teachers to be my instructors.

The week will be structured as follows:
Day 1, at 4:00 p.m., we will meet at The Tournament Players Course in Ponte Vedra, Florida to kick off the camp. We will start with a putting contest (Nike Golf putter to the winner), followed by a reception in the Champions Dining Room to which we will invite a PGA TOUR player to talk to the student athletes. We will also have a nutritionist to discuss proper nutrition and perform a body composition analysis, and each student will go through a Fitness evaluation/screen.

Day 2 will be held at The GolfPlex with instruction, competition and a Nike club fitting for each player. I will introduce the online coaching system from GolfPsych that they will be able to use when they are back at their respective schools at the start of the golf season. Players will also get experience with the K-vest 3D swing analysis.

Day 3 will include more instruction at GolfPlex, with stations for the players to go through, covering full swing, short game, putting, on-course and the mental game.

On Day 4 we will have an 18-hole match at the Tournament Players Club Valley Course. We will invite area golf coaches for recruiting from UF, JU, UCF, FSU, USF, UNF and Flagler College. Before the match begins, there will be a closest to the pin contest on #17, the island green at the Stadium course. We will organize players into teams. Each team's representative for the closest to the pin contest will be determined by the results of the previous days’ challenges (a la Big Break). The team player will hit one shot to try to win the Nike Golf prize for the entire team. In addition, 10 time PGA TOUR Winner Mark McCumber will give a clinic on the TOUR player-only side of the practice facility. The winning individual of the match will receive a set of Nike Irons, and the winning team will play the TPC Stadium course after the camp.

Day 5 at The GolfPlex at UNF, we will continue to work on areas in which the players need improvement, and Scott Schroeder UNF golf coach will discuss college golf - what coaches are looking for, and how the selection process works. At the finish of the day, all of the campers will be presented with a video of the contest on #17, and Mark McCumber's clinic.

The camp will be $1200 per camper.
